Abstract:
An experimental investigation was made of stimulated Raman scattering in CO2 filling a multipass optical cell. An increase in the number of the Stokes and anti-Stokes components of stimulated Raman scattering was observed when the CO2 pressure was reduced to 0.3–4 atm. Measurements were made of the wavelengths and of the spectral width of the components of stimulated Raman scattering in CO2 observed for the first time. The dependences of the energies of the Stokes and anti-Stokes components of the scattering in CO2 on the pump energy (λ ~1.06 μ) were determined using a multipass cell. A reduction in the pressure of CO2 to 0.5–1 atm resulted in generation of just the axial anti-Stokes components of the scattering.
