Abstract:
A theoretical investigation is made of the behaviour of relaxation oscillations of a single-frequency solid-state ring laser operating in the travelling-wave regime. An analysis is made of the effects of changes in the linear coupling of counterpropagating waves, in the phase and amplitude cavity nonreciprocities, and in the detuning of the lasing frequency from the centre of the gain profile. The ranges of the parameters where the interaction of relaxation oscillations takes place (frequency pushing and pulling, locking of the decrements) are determined. An exchange interaction between relaxation of oscillations is described.
