Formation of a non-Gaussian intensity profile in a laser with inhomogeneous mirrors

A. G. Nikitenko, Yu. V. Troitskii
Abstract: A theoretical and experimental study was made of the special features of the method of inhomogeneous mirrors used to form gas-laser beams with a constant transverse intensity distribution. Quantitative characteristics were obtained and these indicated a high efficiency of the method. The main factors influencing this efficiency and the range of application of the method were identified.
