Critical phenomena in self-diffraction gyration of laser beams in electrooptic crystals

Abstract: A theoretical analysis is made of optical multistability in electrooptic crystals in the case of various mechanisms of self-diffraction gyration. A method for realization of optical bistability in the interaction of two beams is suggested and estimates are obtained for strontium barium niobate and lithium niobate.
