Modulation of radiation in semiconductors due to the Gunn effect

I. A. Poluèktov, Yu. M. Popov, V. S. Roitberg
Abstract: A theoretical analysis is made of the interaction of radiation with a semiconductor crystal under the Gunn oscillation conditions. It is shown that the reflection coefficient of a domain may differ considerably from the reflection coefficient of a crystal as a whole. A method for amplitude modulation utilizing this effect is suggested. The plasma and magnetoplasma reflections are analyzed.
