Neodymium-glass laser with high-frequency Q switching

Abstract:
An analysis was made of the energy and time characteristics of a neodymium-glass laser subjected to periodic pumping and high-frequency Q switching. The range of Q switching frequencies corresponding to the maximum laser efficiency was determined. Injection of a perturbing ultrasonic field into the resonator gave rise to self-Q-switching.
