Use of an intracavity spatial filter for reducing the divergence of excimer laser radiation

Abstract:
A study was made of the influence of an intracavity spatial filter on the characteristics of emission from an excimer laser. An effective reduction in the divergence of the radiation and a narrowing of the spectrum of the emission line were obtained for an electric-discharge XeCl laser by a filter used in combination with a diffraction grating.
