Investigation of stimulated Brillouin scattering and phase conjugation of radiation emitted by a chemical HF laser

Abstract:
Stimulated Brillouin scattering and phase conjugation of HF laser radiation in compressed SF6 (22 atm) was investigated under single-frequency (λ ~2.91 μm) and multifrequency (λ ~2.6–3.3 μm) conditions. The scattering was observed simultaneously at wavelengths of nine lines, which carried ~ 80% of the laser radiation energy. The overall efficiency of conversion of the pump energy to the reflected radiation was ~ 30%.
