Abstract: A pulse-periodic garnet laser system with phase conjugation and a 0.8 J output energy was constructed using passive polarization decoupling. High energy characteristics were obtained employing a decoupled ring laser as the master oscillator, so that there was no need for a Faraday rotator normally used in such systems.
