Abstract:
Measurements were made of the intensities of lines due to resonant transitions in hydrogen-like aluminum, magnesium, and fluorine ions in a recombining laser plasma. It was found that the Lα line was absorbed in the fluorine plasma, in agreement with the results of calculations. Calculations predicted no inversion of the 3–2 transition and the gain for the 4–3 transition in the Al XIII ion should be ~1 cm – 1.
