Investigation of self-interaction processes from the statistical characteristics of the scattered field

M. A. Vorontsov, D. V. Pruidze, V. I. Shmalgauzen
Abstract: A method is proposed for the experimental investigation of the integrated characteristics of an optical beam undergoing self-interaction in the propagation medium. The method is based on analyzing the spectrum of intensity fluctuations of the scattered radiation. An experimental investigation is reported of transient thermal self-interaction in a liquid. The method can be used to estimate the operating efficiency of adaptive radiation-focusing systems and in many other applications.
