Abstract: It was established experimentally that linearly polarized light transmitted by a polymer graded-index light-focusing rod retains its polarization. The interference pattern of the chromatic polarization indicated that the transmission of linearly polarized light by this rod manifested properties similar to those observed after passage through a biaxial crystal.
