Pulsed stimulated emission due to vibrational transitions in the CO molecule in the presence of helium and argon

A. V. Anokhin, S. V. Markova, G. G. Petrash
Abstract: An investigation was made of the pulsed stimulated emission due to vibrational transitions in the group state of the CO molecule in mixtures with helium and argon. The stimulated emission resulting from discharges in pure CO was quite different from the corresponding emission from mixtures. It was established that the population inversion mechanisms in these two cases were different. The factors responsible for the collapse of the stimulated emission during a pumping current pulse were analyzed.
