Abstract:
An experimental and theoretical study was made of the dependences of the characteristics of a ruby laser with a bleachable filter on the effective length of the resonator. The resonator length was varied within wide limits by an optical delay line. The time, spectral, and energy characteristics of the laser were calculated. An experimental study was made of the self-mode-locked emission. The dependences of the duration of a train of ultrashort emission pulses and of the width of the emission spectrum on rheresonator length were determined.
