Selection of vibration–rotational carbon dioxide laser lines by a diffraction grating in the resonator

Abstract: Vibration–rotational lines in the stimulated emission spectrum of a CO2 laser were selected for the first time by a diffraction grating in a resonator. The short-term power recorded in these lines was comparable with the output power of a nonselective CO2 laser and amounted to 5–15 W.
