Transfer function of a system of series-connected fiber waveguides with a step refractive index profile

T. V. Babkina
Abstract: A comparison was made of the dispersion properties of a system of series-connected fiber waveguides all with similar properties. It was found that if the excitation conditions of each fiber were standardized by a mode mixer, the amplitude-frequency characteristic of such a system could be approximated quite accurately by the product of the characteristics of the individual fibers.
