Influence of rare gases on laser-chemical reactions

Abstract: An analysis is made of the influence of the addition of various rare gases to the initial gas mixture on the yield (or rate) of chemical reactions taking place in this mixture. Conditions are determined when the change in the yield will be positive for thermal reactions and negative for laser-chemical reactions (i.e. for reactions which take place by the excitation of molecules which absorb laser radiation beyond the thermal level).
