Two-frequency helium–neon laser in a transverse magnetic field
V. G. Gudelev, V. M. Yasinskiĭ
Abstract:
An experimental study was made of the energy and frequency characteristics of a helium-neon laser (λ =1.15 μ) having a phase anisotropic resonator and subjected to a transverse magnetic field. Special attention was given to a two-frequency operating regime with orthogonal linear wave polarizations. It was found that the variations in the frequency difference of these waves caused by the magnetic field, detuning, and pumping level were minimized by applying mutually orthogonal transverse magnetic fields to different parts of the active medium.
