Some aspects of the behavior of a photochromic organic film at high illumination intensities
A. K. Stolyarov, A. A. Komlev, A. P. Aksenchikov
Abstract:
An experimental study was made of the behavior of films of some photochromic materials at different radiation power densities. The radiation was provided by the fundamental and second harmonics of a ruby laser, the latter obtained using a KDP crystal. The dependences of the rates of bleaching and coloration of photochromic organic films on the duration of illumination were obtained. It was found that a reduction in the duration of illumination reduced the change in the optical density in the bleaching process and increased the change in the optical density in the coloration process. Possible applications of such films as recording media were considered.
