Active mode locking in an XeCl laser
A. I. Karapuzikov, V. K. Makukha, A. M. Razhev
Abstract:
An investigation was made of mode locking in an XeCl laser. Active mode locking resulted from a deliberate increase in the duration of the linear stage of the development of the lasing process. The duration of pulses in a train was $\lesssim$ 3 nsec. The theoretical and experimental results were compared and the feasibility of generating shorter pulses was considered.
