Electric-discharge XeCl laser emitting pulses of 1 μsec duration

Abstract:
An XeCl laser excited by a self-sustained discharge emitted pulses of 1 μsec duration. Microsecond pulses were obtained by pulsed excitation and it was found that an increase in the pulse duration did not reduce the efficiency of conversion of the energy deposited in the active medium.
