Dynamic Stark effect as a cause of noncoherent excitation of multilevel systems by quasimonochromatic radiation

E. N. Martynova, V. T. Platonenko, N. A. Sukhareva
Abstract: An analysis is made of the dynamics of excitation of a multilevel system by adiabatically switchedon quasiresonant radiation. It is found that, as a result of changes in the structure of the spectrum during the irradiation process, induced practically irreversible transitions may occur in these systems.
