Abstract:
A study was made of low-threshold (for a pump intensity 1 MW/cm2) transverse scattering in the visible range (532 nm) by a mixture of complex organic compounds and diethyl ether in the vicinity of the critical point. The spectral shift of the scattered radiation did not exceed 0.01 cm–1. A study was made of the kinetics of the scattered-light pulses at the wavelength of 355 nm in a transverse direction, as a function of the pump power. The scattering by coumarin 6 vapor had little influence on the energy characteristics of laser radiation excited simultaneously in the same medium. The observed kinetics of the scattering could be used to study the dynamic properties of gaseous media near the critical state.
