Investigation of the reflection of infrared surface electromagnetic waves by a corrugated metal surface

G. N. Zhizhin, V. A. Sychugov, V. I. Silin, V. A. Yakovlev
Abstract: An investigation was made of the influence of the depth of grating grooves on the reflection coeffiicent/f of surface electromagnetic waves and of the dependence of R on the wavelength and angles of rotation of a grating relative to the direction of wave propagation. The maximum value of the reflection coefficient was 52% when the groove depth was 0.24 μ (at λ = 10.6 μ).
