Abstract: An analysis was made of a thin-film Bragg electrooptic modulator with a variable-period electrode structure. Its operating conditions in the Bragg diffraction regime were determined and the specific electrode structure was calculated. A waveguide fabricated by titanium diffusion into Y-cut LiNbO3 was used to produce a modulator with a focal length of 30 mm, a control voltage of 8.5 V, and a band width of 570 MHz.
