Investigation of transmission of weak signals along fiber waveguides

A study is made of the transmission of weak optical signals excited by optical radiation or by β radiation penetrating the waveguide cladding. These optical signals can act as the noise or interference (optical strays) which impose a restriction on the reception of optical data transmitted along fiber waveguides.
