Wavefront reversal in a population-inverted carbon dioxide gas caused by light-induced heating

L. A. Vasil'ev, M. G. Galushkin, A. M. Seregin, N. V. Cheburkin
Abstract: It is shown that light-induced evolution of heat in thennodynamically nonequilibrium media may result in wavefront reversal in degenerate four-wave interaction. The main parameters of this process are calculated and the conditions are found under which its efficiency is greater than of the wavefront reversal due to nonlinearity of the gain.
