Acoustooptic interaction in a GaAlAs waveguide

A. A. Il'ich, S. M. Kikkarin, D. V. Petrov, A. V. Tsarev, I. B. Yakovkin
Abstract: The published work and additional experiments were used to carry out a comparative analysis of the efficiency of the acoustooptic interaction in GaAlAs and LiNbO3:Ti waveguides. Experiments carried out at a frequency of 100 MHz showed that, other conditions being equal, the acoustooptic figure of merit of GaAlAs waveguides was an order of magnitude higher than that of LiNbO3:Ti waveguides.
