Selection of a calculation model for nozzle flow in high-temperature combustionproduct gasdynamic lasers

A. B. Britan, V. A. Levin, A. M. Starik, A. N. Khmelevskiĭ
Abstract: A description is given of a mathematical model for a vibrational-nonequilibrium flow of combustion products of hydrocarbon fuels in nozzles of CO2 gasdynamic lasers. The values of the gain calculated using this model are compared with the results of measurements. This comparison demonstrates that the flow model can be used to analyze the characteristics of CO2 gasdynamic lasers utilizing combustion products of hydrocarbon fuels.
