Determination of the structure characteristics of single-mode channel LiNbO3:Ti waveguides

K. S. Buritskiĭ, E. M. Zolotov, V. A. Chernykh
Abstract: A method was developed for determining the increment in the refractive index (to within ~ 10%) and the effective refractive index of single-mode channel LiNbO3:Ti waveguides from the distribution of the optical field of a mode in the near-field zone. The range of validity of this method was found and it was demonstrated that the method could be applied to waveguides formed in Y- and Z-cut LiNbO3 crystals.
