Abstract: An experimental investigation was made of the gain of a CO2 electric ionization laser at pressures up to 8 atm. The dependence of the gain on the pressure and composition of the CO2+N2 mixture, the emission spectrum of the laser, and the pressure dependence of the pumping energy were determined. No new types of quenching due to the high pressure of the working gas were found in the active medium of the CO2 electric ionization laser.
