Interaction of light beams in the active medium of a copper vapor image amplifier

Abstract: The interaction of two light beams in a copper vapor laser amplifier was studied for different overlap geometries of the beams. It was demonstrated experimentally that the output power of one of the beams could be strongly modulated by varying the input intensity of the other beam. It was shown that under conditions of maximum overlap of the beams the ratios of the powers at the input and output were practically identical.
