Laser with dynamic gratings of free carriers in a semiconductor
S. G. Odulov, S. S. Slyusarenko, M. S. Soskin
Abstract:
Frequency-degenerate parametric lasing was observed for the first time in a cadmium telluride crystal both in a resonator formed by reversing and ordinary plane mirrors and in a resonator without such mirrors. A calculation was made of the energy characteristics of the lasing process allowing for saturation of the pump waves. A nonmonotonic variation of the intensity of the output radiation was observed on increase in the pumping rate above the threshold value, the intervals of pumping rates corresponding to forbidden lasing were determined, and the regions of bistable behavior were found.
