Analysis of the quality of wavefront reversal in the presence of noise

V. E. Kirakosyants, V. A. Loginov
Abstract: An analysis is made of wavefront reversal under conditions of propagation in a turbulent atmosphere. Information on the state of the atmosphere is deduced from the field observed at the receiving aperture and comprising a mixture of the radiation fields of a point beacon and of a noise background. An estimate is made of the efficiency of the reversal algorithm as a function of the signal-to-noise ratio and of the turbulence intensity along the propagation path.
