Change in the polarization of light in a turbulent atmosphere

Abstract:
The scalar form of the Green function is used in a theoretical estimate of the change in the polarization of light arriving from objects located at large distances from the Earth and atmosphere, when strong fluctuations of the phase occur. Computer calculations indicate that under these conditions the polarization of light is one of the most stable characteristics that are not distorted in the atmosphere.
