Enhancement of the efficiency of flashlamp-pumped YAG:Nd3+ lasers

Abstract: An investigation was made of the influence of the base material of a monolithic reflecting enclosure on the efficiency of a YAG:Nd3+ laser. It was found that the energy characteristics of this laser could be improved considerably by employing reflecting enclosures made of quartz glass doped with cerium oxide.
