Spectral broadening of a signal from a laser velocity meter in the presence of a flow velocity gradient

V. V. Rozanov, A. S. Chirkin, N. K. Shelkovnikov
Abstract: A self-consistent generalization is made of the correlation function of a Doppler signal to the case when a gradient of a laminar flow velocity exists in the scattering volume. Analytic results are obtained for the spectral width of the signal in the case of a linear gradient and a relatively small change in the velocity in the investigated volume.
