External resonator filled with a thermally nonlinear material

Abstract:
An analysis is made of steady-state generation of electromagnetic oscillations in an optical resonator excited by an external monochromatic beam when the resonator is filled with a substance characterized by a sufficiently strong temperature dependence of the refractive index and by considerable absorption at the excitation frequency.
