Abstract: An investigation was made of the absorption spectra, luminescence excitation spectra, and photoluminescence and electroluminescence spectra of neodymium in ε-GaSe single crystals. Several inequivalent neodymium luminescence centers were found. Efficient energy transfer to the neodymium impurity ions occurred when the semiconductor was excited in its fundamental absorption band. Electroluminescence of neodymium was observed on pulsed excitation of ε-GaSe:Nd.
