Integrated optical mixer formed in a thin-film waveguide on the basis of anisotropic diffraction grating structures for multichannel fiber-optic communication lines

Abstract:
An investigation was made of anisotropic diffraction gratings in thin-film waveguides made of polyvinyl cinnamate films. The results of measurements of the diffraction efficiency of sinusoidal phase gratings with the optic axis lying in the film plane were in satisfactory agreement with the calculated values. An analysis was made of the possibility of constructing integrated optical mixers in thin-film waveguides from anisotropic phase diffraction grating structures.
