Investigation of an optical converter based on controlled coupling between coaxial waveguides
V. I. Busurin
Abstract:
An analysis is made of the operation of an optical converter consisting of two coaxial (concentric) waveguides the coupling between which can be controlled by altering the optical parameters of an ambient medium surrounding the converter. A theory is developed for controlled coupling of coaxial waveguides and the main characteristics of the converter are obtained. It is shown that it should be possible to use coaxial waveguides in optical transducers (sensors).
