Stability of two-mode stimulated emission from a dye laser

A. A. Zheltukhin, I. P. Konovalov, E. D. Protsenko
Abstract: Criteria for the stability of steady-state emission of two modes from a dye laser with a thin layer of the active medium are established theoretically and confirmed experimentally. Two-mode operation was achieved in nonoverlapping ranges of intermode frequency shifts 1 GHz wide around 1.5, 4.5, and 7.5 GHz.
