Passive mode locking in a flashlamp-pumped Al2O3:Ti3+ laser

Abstract:
Passive mode locking in flashlamp-pumped titanium-activated sapphire was achieved for the first time. The duration of the stimulated emission pulses, tunable in the wavelength ranges 750–765 and 780–790 nm, was 25 ps.
