Abstract:
Stabilization of the transverse distribution of the field in a semiconductor laser by introduction of a fiber-optic corrector inside the resonator was proposed and realized. The angular distribution of the radiation from such a laser fiber-optic screen was close to the diffraction limit, governed by the core of the fiber, and was independent of the pump current (up to a 300-fold excess above the lasing threshold). Introduction of such a corrector did not result in deterioration of the power and threshold characteristics of the laser, so that the brightness could be increased by a factor of 10–15 compared with a conventional laser screen.
