Pumping of gas lasers by a pulse generator with an inductive storage unit
A. N. Panchenko, V. F. Tarasenko Institute of High Current Electronics, Siberian Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences, Tomsk
Abstract:
An investigation was made of lasing in Ne(He, Ar)–Xe–HCl (λ = 308 nm) and Ne–H2 (λ = 585.3 nm) mixtures and in nitrogen (λ = 337.1 nm) pumped by a pulsed generator with an inductive energy storage unit and a plasma current chopper. The use of such a pulse generator made it possible to ensure the optimal pumping conditions for lasers of various types including exciplex and plasma lasers, as well as those utilizing self-terminating transitions.
