Program-controlled laser unit for cutting of materials

Abstract: An automatic unit was developed for gas-laser cutting of materials. A CO2 laser with an output power of about 500 W and a commercial EM-703 program-controlled X–Y plotter were the main components of the unit. The principal parameters of the unit are given and the results of technical tests are described.
