Theoretical and experimental investigations of the electron temperature in laser-produced plasmas

Full-text PDF (719 kB) Citations (1)
Abstract: Theoretical investigations of the plasma parameters, electron temperature, and ion expansion energy were based on a stationary hydrodynamic model. Comparison with experimental observations of three different solid materials gave good agreement with theory. There is evidence for thermal equilibrium between electrons and ions in plasmas excited by nanosecond light pulses.
