Nonlinear optical effects

Nonlinear absorption of randomly pulsating СO2 laser radiation in narrow-gap semiconductors

V. I. Kovalev, O. L. Rus'kin, M. B. Suvorov
Abstract: Experimental and theoretical investigations were made of nonlinear absorption in InAs subjected to a pulse from a СO2 laser operating under random pulsation conditions or subject to mode locking. The characteristic features of the behavior of the transmission of the radiation by InAs samples under these two conditions were attributed to time-dependent nonlinear absorption.
