Velocity of a fog-clearing front in the case of gasdynamic explosions of aerosols in laser beams

V. V. Kolosov, A. V. Kuzikovskiĭ
Abstract: An analysis is made of effective fog clearing under conditions of gasdynamic explosions of aerosols. It is shown that explosion-generated shock waves prevent establishment of a steady-state clearing wave, so that the most effective clearing is achieved employing pulses of duration less than 10-7 sec (corresponding to the time of appearance of significant scattering by shock waves). A calculation is made of the velocity and depth of fog clearing by a single pulse.
