Abstract:
An experimental investigation was made of the time and amplitude stability of the characteristics of a finite train of pulses emitted by a pulse-pumped neodymium glass laser with a passive LiF:F2– switch. It was found possible to reduce the relative instability of the pulse amplitude in a train to 5% and the instability of the time interval between the pulses to about 10% by acceleration of the spreading of the field in the resonator during lasing.
